Please join us for a two-day Fraser Valley Literary Festival, which runs November 3-4, 2022. This event will include inspiring and award-winning authors on writing, craft, and the writing life in contemporary Canada!<\/p>\n

Doors open at 3:30 pm. The event starts at 4 pm with a light reception to follow.<\/p>\n
Keynote Speakers:<\/p>\n
Jordan Abel — Award-winning Nisga\u2019a writer, including Un\/inhabited<\/em>, winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize. https:\/\/www.jordanabel.ca<\/p>\n Marsha Lederman — Author of Kiss the Red Stairs: The Holocaust Once Removed<\/em>, and the Globe and Mail’s Western Arts correspondent. https:\/\/www.marshalederman.ca<\/p>\n Harrison Mooney — An award-winning writer and journalist and UFV alumnus, and the author of the memoir Invisible Boy<\/em>, about growing up adopted and Black in a white Christian family in the Fraser Valley. Doors open at 11:45 am. Event starts at 12 pm and runs to 3:15 pm with light refreshments served in between panels.<\/p>\n Gurjinder Basran — Winner of the Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize for her debut novel Everything Was Goodbye<\/em>. https:\/\/www.gurjinderbasran.ca\/<\/p>\n Carlie Blume — Author of Gigglepuss<\/em>, and a graduate of Simon Fraser University\u2019s The Writers Studio @carliejblume<\/p>\n Alicia Elliott — Winner of the National Magazine Awards for A Mind Spread Out On The Ground<\/em> and RBC Taylor Emerging Writer Awards.<\/p>\n Shawn Hitchins — A Toronto-based comedian, actor, and prolific author. Panel 2: The Fantastic & the Mundane: Symbolism in the Everyday Panel (Moderator: Marsha Lederman) 1:45-3:15 pm<\/strong><\/p>\n Tawahum Bige — A \u0141utselk\u02bce Dene, Plains Cree poet and spoken word artist. Curtis LeBlanc — Author of Good for Nothing<\/em> and Little Wild<\/em>.
