Now accepting nominations for the 2022 UFV Distinguished Alumni and Young Distinguished Alumni Awards<\/p>\n
Do you know UFV alumni doing incredible work at home and around the world? We want to hear about them!<\/p>\n
Established in 2003, the UFV Distinguished Alumni Award recognizes the accomplishments of our amazing alumni. The traditional Distinguished Alumni Award celebrates a UFV graduate who has achieved outstanding distinction in career, educational achievement, or community service.<\/p>\n
In 2012, the Young Distinguished Alumni Award was established. This award honours a graduate who is 35 years of age or younger and has achieved outstanding distinction in the above categories.<\/p>\n
If you know of an alumnus or alumna worthy of this distinction we encourage you to nominate them. Recipients will be honoured and celebrated at the Town and Gown event in the fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery Distinguished Alumni Award nomination we receive makes us celebrate,\u201d says Whitney Fordham, UFV\u2019s Director of Alumni Relations. \u201cEach nomination package represents an amazing graduate \u2013 someone who continues to pursue UFV\u2019s vision to connect communities, work towards reconciliation, and generate prosperity. And each nomination also represents someone in our community who is experiencing the transformative work that our alumni carry out. It is incredible to realize the impact our alumni have in a wide range of industries, sectors, and spaces.\u201d<\/p>\n
The deadline for nomination for this year\u2019s awards is August 30, 2022.<\/p>\n
Winners of these awards will join the ranks of past recipients including 2021 recipients Jason Beck (Dip \u201904) and Sheetal Deo (BA \u201912). Read Jason and Sheetal\u2019s stories to learn about how these extraordinary UFV alumni are transforming lives and building community.<\/p>\n
Other past winners include Sonya Sangster (BBA \u201906) and Jesse Wegenast (BA \u201912) in 2019, Liz Harris (BA \u201901) and Andrew Alexander (BSc \u201914) in 2018, and many more!<\/p>\n
