{"id":25698,"date":"2021-09-16T15:30:44","date_gmt":"2021-09-16T22:30:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/announce\/?p=25698"},"modified":"2021-09-16T16:13:09","modified_gmt":"2021-09-16T23:13:09","slug":"ufv-vaccination-self-disclosure-survey-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/announce\/2021\/09\/16\/ufv-vaccination-self-disclosure-survey-results\/","title":{"rendered":"Vax survey results | Ventilation | Masks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Results from the UFV vaccination status survey:<\/strong><br \/>\nThe data set from the recent self-disclosure survey indicates members of the UFV community are doing their part in protecting themselves and others against the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>90% of the 5,604 students, staff, faculty, and exempt administrators who responded to the survey indicated\u00a0they were fully or partially vaccinated<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>(response rate:\u00a073% employees and\u00a047% students).<\/p>\n<p>Further results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>85% of the combined total disclosed they were fully vaccinated<\/li>\n<li>5% disclosed they were partially vaccinated<\/li>\n<li>5% disclosed they had yet to be vaccinated<\/li>\n<li>5% chose not to disclose their vaccination status<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of the 858 people who indicated they were partially vaccinated, not yet vaccinated, or chose not to disclose:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>29% indicated they are intending to be fully vaccinated by the end of September<\/li>\n<li>23% were unsure<\/li>\n<li>31% chose not to disclose<\/li>\n<li>17% indicated they do not intend to be vaccinated by the end of September<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you are not yet vaccinated, and if you are able, please consider getting your shot as soon as possible. To make it even more convenient, UFV is hosting <a href=\"https:\/\/ufv.ca\/return-to-campus\/updates\/#d.en.1022883\">Fraser Health pop-up clinics<\/a>\u00a0this month.<\/p>\n<p>While vaccinations are the most effective form of protection against the virus, there are also other layers of protection that the Public Health Office, the Province, and UFV have implemented to help keep our campuses safe \u2013 particularly during a time where we are seeing the impact of the Delta variant. The following measures have proven effective:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wearing masks<\/strong> \u2013 please see the most recent updates on masks\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/return-to-campus\/mask-guidelines\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a><\/li>\n<li><strong>Effective ventilation systems<\/strong> (click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ufv.ca\/media\/assets\/risk-and-safety\/covid-19-safety-response\/operations-guidelines\/UFV-COVID-19-Operations-Guideline-HVAC.pdf\">here<\/a>\u00a0for UFV\u2019s HVAC operations guidelines during COVID)<\/li>\n<li>Completing the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bc.thrive.health\/covid19\/en\">BC COVID-19 Self-Assessment tool<\/a>\u00a0prior to coming onto campus<\/li>\n<li>Staying home when sick<\/li>\n<li>Regular cleaning protocols<\/li>\n<li>Washing your hands<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When coming to campus please check UFV.ca or the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ufv.ca\/return-to-campus\/updates\/\">UFV Return to Campus<\/a>\u00a0pages for the latest updates to health measures and steps you need to take.<\/p>\n<p>The Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training has developed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www2.gov.bc.ca\/gov\/content\/education-training\/post-secondary-education\/institution-resources-administration\/studying-during-covid-19\">Return to Campus guidelines<\/a>\u00a0for our sector and the BC Centre for Disease Control has a number of resources on their\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bccdc.ca\/health-info\/diseases-conditions\/covid-19\/post-secondary\">post-secondary page<\/a>\u00a0including detailed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bccdc.ca\/Health-Info-Site\/Documents\/COVID_public_guidance\/Public_Health_Guidance_Campus.pdf\">Return to Campus public health guidance<\/a>\u00a0that supports on-campus activities.<\/p>\n<p>UFV&#8217;s number one priority continues to be your health and well-being. The university has been in constant dialogue with the Province and local health authorities over the past several months and leading up to the start of the fall semester.
