The purpose of this project is the removal of end of life analog based equipment with modern digital based audio-visual technology. These eRoom enhancements will consist of both the replacement of existing equipment and the integration of new technology to support teaching &amp; learning initiatives at UFV.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Replacement of Existing AV Technology<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&#8211; 1st generation podium\/lectern<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Video Switching &amp; Control Systems<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Lamp based Projector<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Projection Screen<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Computer<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Desktop Monitor<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Speakers (front of room mounted) &#8211;<\/p>\n<p><strong>New AV Technology &amp; Services<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>ADA compliant, adjustable height podium\/lectern<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Touchscreen input controls<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Laser Projectors<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Wireless Presentation<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Document Camera<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Microphone (Wireless Lavalier)<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Ceiling integrated speaker system<\/p>\n<p><strong>Current State<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u202fAudio-Visual equipment in our eRooms at the\u202fChilliwack Canada Education Park (CEP)\u202fcampus have become obsolete and incapable of interfacing with modern technology.\u202fMost of the\u202fgeneral purpose eRooms\u202fcontain technology from the original installation date when CEP\u202fopened for classes in 2012.\u202fWith no evergreen program or lifecycle management implemented, these\u202feRooms now\u202flag the\u202fcampus standard for design, functionality,\u202fand\u202ftechnology.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Impact to users\/Benefits to UFV<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The accumulation of technology improvements are anticipated to provide innovation in the areas of student engagement, creating active learners while facilitating peer collaboration and group work.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The adjustable height\/ADA compliant podium provides inclusion and access to classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; The move to laser projectors (from lamps) results in less classroom downtime for maintenance and speeds up startup time without the lamp warm-up requirement.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Introducing microphones to deliver better speech audio for improved education delivery.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Ceiling mounted speakers will allow for improved classroom audio dispersion and collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Introducing wireless presentation to allow the instructor to move about the classroom.
