{"id":22772,"date":"2020-08-23T22:53:16","date_gmt":"2020-08-24T05:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/announce\/?p=22772"},"modified":"2020-08-30T22:09:33","modified_gmt":"2020-08-31T05:09:33","slug":"microcourse-7-inclusivity-online-aug-27","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ufv.ca\/announce\/2020\/08\/23\/microcourse-7-inclusivity-online-aug-27\/","title":{"rendered":"MicroCourse 7 &#8212; Inclusivity Online &#8212; Sept 24"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>MicroCourse 7 \u2013 Online Teaching Fundamentals \u2013 Inclusivity Online<br \/>\nInternational and Indigenous student profiles, access, and participation<\/p>\n<p>Date(s): Thursday, Sept 24, from 2pm &#8211; 3pm<\/p>\n<p>Facilitators: Lorna Andrews, Teaching and Learning Specialist, Indigenization, and Victoria Surtees, Teaching and Learning Specialist, Internationization<\/p>\n<p>These series of MicroCourses will introduce the essential Blackboard tools, but the primary objective of these MicroCourses is the pedagogy behind the tools and how they can be used to:<\/p>\n<p>Achieve learning objectives<br \/>\nPromote student engagement<br \/>\nCollaborate among peers and instructors<br \/>\nCreative easy-to-navigate course design<br \/>\nAssess student learning<br \/>\nOffer support to students<br \/>\nCreate an online learning community<\/p>\n<p>Delivery Each MicroCourse will be delivered in a one-hour scheduled synchronous session and an additional Blackboard course and asynchronous activity\/ reading\/ resource\/ that would take about one hour. Sessions will be recorded for reference in the asynchronous courses.<\/p>\n<p>All Sessions will be open to UFV employees. Each MicroCourse aims to require 1, 1.5, or 2 hours to complete, in-line with Lynda.com (LinkedIn) and Mentor Commons online courses. A synchronous component may be necessary in the Synchronous MicroSource.<\/p>\n<p>Feedback will be on a facilitator and peer feedback basis. Participants must create an activity, ILO, or assessment to complete the MicroCourse and receive a credential.<\/p>\n<p>Access<br \/>\nEach MicroCourse will reside in its own Blackboard course shell.
