\nDo you know students interested in participating in Adventures in Geography (GEOG 470) and spending 5 days in California next September? Are they passionate about Sustainability, Urban Geography and Transportation Planning? Then tell them about travelling with a UFV urban planner, transportation specialist, and earthquake scientist to San Francisco to learn how these disciplines intertwine and shape this dynamic city.<\/p>\n
On this trip we will use public transit and bicycles to tour San Francisco\u2019s famous neighbours and districts, such as Chinatown, Fisherman\u2019s Wharf, Haight-Ashbury, Nob Hill, Tenderloin, and others. From San Francisco we will travel by train to UC Davis to meet planners and professors keen on sustainability. On another day, we’ll hike across the San Andreas fault in Los Trancos Open Space Preserve and visit the U.S. Geological Survey Menlo Park Science Centre to meet earthquake specialists. And don’t forget Alcatraz, SF’s local music scene, and California vineyards!<\/p>\n
