In an effort to make New Student Orientation more accessible, UFV has launched an online orientation program, delivered through Blackboard. Divided into three modules, the Online NSO delivers essential information in a convenient, engaging format. The first module, released in late May, covers course planning and online registration. The second module, released on September 3, introduces campus resources, academic expectations, and involvement opportunities.<\/p>\n

The third module, to be released in late September, will provide an adapted version of UFV\u2019s new sexualized violence prevention training as well as a section on holistic wellness.<\/p>\n

New-to-UFV students may access the Online NSO through myUFV, just as they access any online courses. The program appears as \u201cOnline_NSO: 2017 New Student Orientation\u201d under My Courses. The Online NSO will be open for a student\u2019s first two semesters in order to serve as an ongoing resource. Currently, this program is only available to domestic students.<\/p>\n

UFV faculty and staff are encouraged to promote the Online NSO to new-to-UFV students as another resource to facilitate a smooth transition to UFV. Employees are invited to test out the Online NSO for themselves.
