UFV teamed up with two other BC universities to provide a venue for a conference normally held in the United States this summer.<\/p>\n
The Digital Pedagogy Lab is in its third year and is usually held at a university in the US. As a result of the US travel ban, the conference was looking to move its location to Canada to ensure all international participants had the opportunity to attend.<\/p>\n
A call was sent out in January and UFV, along with Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Thompson Rivers University, stepped forward to provide support for the conference. DPL was held July 28-30 at Kwantlen\u2019s Richmond campus. Seven participants from UFV attended.<\/p>\n
The conference focused on three themes: Digital Literacy, Open Pedagogy and Digital Writing. Keynotes featured Rusul Alrubail, originally from Iraq, who discussed Activism, Organizing and Resisting in the Digital Age. Jesse Stommel from the University of Mary Washington discussed Queering Open Pedagogy in his keynote.
