Wild crop relatives have enormous potential for crop improvement through conventional breeding, while new advances in DNA sequencing technologies are making it easier than ever for us to identify the genes responsible, understand their mechanism, and track them in breeding lines. In spite of this, investment in and access to the building blocks of plant breeding are becoming more limited at a time when they are needed more than ever before.

Feb 21
6–7:30pm
Abbotsford Campus, Building B room 101
The event is free, and open to the public – all are welcome!
For information contact: garry.fehr@ufv.ca or lisa.matty@ufv.ca

02/22/2017

Breeding for the Future: The case for conserving, collecting, and evaluating wild crop relatives.
