In response to the UN call for action a forum was organized at UFV on Oct. 13, 2015.

The first part of the event lasted approximately 45 minutes and focused on the Post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals (and targets) adopted on October by the UN General Assembly. These seventeen goals basically relate to most aspects of our lives. The event was meant to raise awareness of these goals and what they will mean to us as Canadians. The goal was to give everyone who will participated an opportunity to think about how these goals intersect with their interest, their studies, their teaching, their research at UFV and, for students, with their future profession.

The format was simple: a welcome by the Dean or Associate Dean, 3 minute introduction of the SDG process by Yvon, and then discussion followed. To ensure that the discussion moved quickly with a high level of energy, a maximum 2 minute comment time limit was implemented on how one of the goals is intersecting with their own discipline, profession, teaching, or research.
