Six medals for UFV at BC provincials of Skills Canada trades competition

UFV students fared well at the BC Provincial Skills Canada competition at Tradex in Abbotsford on April 18, bringing home three gold, a silver, and two bronze medals.

Congratulations to the following medal winners:

Arianna Guenette, Architectural Drafting — Secondary, Bronze

Kurtis Stevenson, Architectural Drafting — Secondary, Silver

Greg Zervini, Heavy Mechanical, Gold

Matthias Leclair, Electrical Wiring — Secondary, Bronze

Justin Snippa, Welding – Secondary, Gold

Brad Streifel, Welding – Post-Secondary, Gold.

“The dedication it takes to get to this level of performance in their chosen careers is exemplary,” says Randy Kelley, director of the School of Trades. “Thank you to all of our faculty and staff who supported and mentored these students on their way to this level of competition.”
