Turn it Off Week: Nov 14–18

The Abbotsford UFV campus uses approximately 6,000,000 kWh or $400,000 of electricity annually — enough electricity to power about 600 B.C. homes for a year.

Help us save energy and reduce our carbon footprint by participating in Turn it Off Week, Nov 14–18.

Please turn off all lights, monitors, chargers, printers and media equipment, such as TVs and DVD players when they are not in use.

If you are the last one to leave a classroom, laboratory or shared office, please turn the lights off as you leave.

Contrary to popular belief, it does not use more energy to turn the lights back on if you are leaving the room for more than a few seconds, so go ahead and turn them off!

UFV staff and faculty Green Team members have put up stickers and posters to help you remember — keep an eye out for these and more communication over the following week.

Let’s work together to meet our energy reduction targets!
