Effective Tuesday, September 5th, 2011, you will be able to contact Security via their new contact numbers. For all urgent security requests that require an immediate response; such as, First Aid Response, security emergencies, fire and threats, call  local 7770. For routine security requests such as building, office, or classroom access, door unlocks, security escorts and safewalks, call local 7654.

Simplified numbers, enhanced service

The Safety and Security Department and Intercon/ADT Advanced Integration are pleased to introduce the Intercon Operations Centre (IOC).  The IOC will monitor the emergency and non-emergency telephone calls for the University of the Fraser Valley 24 hours 365 days a year.

The IOC will provide a “911” type service delivery model by taking calls for assistance, and dispatching them to either Intercon on-site Security personnel and/or Intercon patrol car as well as the UFV Safety & Security department.  This is a service that will be available to all UFV employees and students.

The IOC will enhance the existing security services by providing a more accessible approach to security resources and services at all UFV campuses (except Aerospace).

The current contact numbers for Security (5050, 5051, 5052, 5053, and 5054) will no longer be in service effective Monday, October 12th, 2011.  These numbers will be replaced with 7770 and has been designated as the line to request urgent Security assistance. For non-urgent (routine) requests, a second contact number 7654 has been added.  We encourage employees to familiarize themselves with these two numbers and utilize them accordingly.

These numbers are also accessible from outside the university; you can access these resources from a mobile phone. The numbers are 1-855-282-7770 (Emergency) and 1-855-239-7654 (Non-Emergency).
