Ashley Wray has joined UFV as a marketing and communications specialist, replacing Patty Wellborn, who has moved to the Okanagan.

Ashley is an award-winning journalist who most recently worked for the Abbotsford News.

She has a bachelor’s degree in journalism and political science from Kwantlen University, and experience in several sectors of journalism, having worked in print, radio, and television.

Ashley is an active user of social media for both work and pleasure (she has more than 900 followers on Twitter). While travelling the world for six months last year, she maintained a detailed and entertaining WordPress blog with well written travel accounts and photos.

She has training in photography and also has experience in In Design, website content generation, and video and voicework. In addition to general and entertainment reporting for the Abbotsford News and Chilliwack Progress, she has worked on special publications while at both papers.

Ashley lives in Chilliwack and has worked as a journalist in Abbotsford and Chilliwack for three years.

She is an enthusiastic proponent of using social media and other new communication techniques to reach today’s audiences. She is very excited about joining the UFV team.

She likes travel, yoga, and hiking, and is engaged.
