Open Access Week 2017

Open Access Week, the annual worldwide recognition of the immense value of open practices in research and education, falls on October 23-29 for 2017. As always, the numerous events and ideas are promoted on the official website:

Locally, there are several workshops and information sessions taking place on the UBC, SFU, KPU, BCIT, and Douglas College campuses, most of which are open to participants and attendees from other institutions. These opportunities include learning how to use Pressbooks, exploring how to incorporate Wikipedia editing into teaching practices, finding open content in specific disciplines, publishing for graduate students, integrating accessibility and inclusivity in open educational resources, increasing the visibility of research data, and examining the open journal publishing system (OJS); other interesting topics will have been announced leading up to Open Access Week.

See the BCcampus calendar for more information.
